Anklang
Musikwelt N. Scott Robinson Kalimba
$150.00
plus $15.00 shipping
A
specifally designed kalimba by Anklang Musikwelt in Germany!
The N. Scott Robinson Kalimba by Anklang Musikwelt features
a slightly deeper resonanting body than usual so the resonance
and sustain is maximized. Two fingerholes in the back
provide plenty of wha-what effects. Traditional African
buzzing is achieved with the light chain laying across
the lamellae. The chain is attached to the kalimba by
a unique method - 2 neodymium magnets on either side.
The magnets are so strong that the chain will never fall
off or move out of position while playing but the benefit
of this is that if you want to turn the buzz off simply
tilt the kalimba away from you and the chain slides to
a non-buzz position. To turn the buzz on - simply title
the kalimba towards you and the chain slides down for
a gentle buzz. These kalimbas are set up with the lowest
note being played by the right hand and tuned to a G minor
pentatonic scale with a range of 2 octaves. Comes with
a few extra neodymium magnets for quick and easy retuning
of some of the lamellae! This instrument was built based
on the kalimba that N. Scott Robinson plays.
